Welcome Letter from Our Founder
I am so glad you decided to take this next step with me on your journey to growing as a barre instructor. When I took my first barre class I had zero dance background, never played a sport, and was in complete shock when the instructor asked me to do a tuck in a room full of total strangers. Flash forward to today; I still have no dance background and am usually only picked for a team as the mascot, but my love for barre has evolved into something that I can’t believe I had lived so long without. Never having been a ballerina or sportsball all-star, I felt like a total fraud for my first few years as a barre instructor. I signed up for countless trainings and workshops in an attempt to grow, but there are only so many ways you can set up a Wide Second Plié. I was left still wanting more. Sure, I had a pile of papers that said “listen to me, I know what I’m talking about,” but I didn’t truly believe a word of it. It wasn’t until I realized that I could use what I’m good at (being a total nerd) and dive into learning the science behind the movement. Once I finally understood why that crazy person wanted me to move my hips that way in front of way too many people, I really fell in love with teaching barre fitness. I was no longer a fraud, but rather a respected instructor. My palms no longer get sweaty when someone asks me “what the heck is barre.” Instead, I now have the confidence, through knowledge, to answer almost any question they can throw at me. Through this training, I hope you can leave with that same sense of assurance and fearless conviction to go on feeling liberated in your future days of being an all-star barre instructor.
Welcome to the world of barre fitness!
